Summer Sun.....

is definitely shining this week, here's hoping it lasts until the weekend! CBH this week have set the theme of summer, and when I think of that, holidays come to mind. So my interpretation is this skinny below:

I stamped the cute lion (from Magnolia) onto the background and again on a separate piece of card. I then coloured both with watercolour pencils. The leaves I punched from patterned paper and chalked the edges to define them. Then I placed the leaves around the edge of the lion, and cut the head out of the second image and layered on top with foam pads to raise it off the surface, and did the same with the top layer of leaves. I cut the grass and layered that at the front. Hope you like the end result.

Three weeks until my summer holiday starts, and counting........

UK Art Raffle...

Set the theme of Circles for November. It took me a while to find inspiration for it, and due to a very hectic shedule over the last couple of weeks, I only managed to finish it on Thursday and post it on Friday, hoping it arrives today! If not it will be entered into the December raffle instead. If you haven't checked out UK Art Raffle yet I recommend a visit and sign up, you can win some amazing forms of art.

To create this I drew the face outline in pencil, then added colour with watercolour pencil, creating the hair from overlapping circles. I once dry I stamped some circles on top in Versamark and added a translucent gold EP on top to highlight a few areas. I hope you like the end result, would love to hear your opinions of it.

Old Father Time....

...has, I'm sure, been speeding up the clocks of late. Time seems to be moving very fast over these last couple of weeks. I am looking forward to a bit of a lull, when it arrives! Anyway, clocks was the the theme for Make A Moo this week and this is how I interpreted it.

I coloured the background with weathered wood and walnut distress inks, then stamped the clocks on top in timber brown stazon. The stamps are from Cherry Pie Arts. I then added subtle colour with watercolour pencils and added glossy accents to the glass faces.

I love the theme of time and anything to do with it, there are so many directions you can go with it, and so many techniques you could use.

Red, White and Blue

Love the colours of my national flag and they have so much scope for use. This Thurs set the challenge of Wave the Flag, and this is my outcome. I used the Union Jack as the background, and stamped my new favourite stamp on to a separate piece of card and coloured it up with watercolour pencils. I then cut to size, doodled and added with foam pads so it is raised. I then wrote the wording separately, cut and doodled and added down the side.

Again time has got away from me, this is slightly after the 5pm deadline, really need to remember that one!! But wanted to share anyway. Hope you enjoy it.
