Spooky Part 1

The spooky season of Halloween has been a favourite theme for many of late, including This Thurs. Here are two ATC's I made for this theme using a range of different stamps from Inkadinkado and Little Yellow Bicycle. For this first ATC I chalked the background then stamped the skull in Versamark and embossed it in black. I then stamped the swirls around the edge and highlighted the leaves using a black glaze pen.
This second ATC was created by chalking the background, stamping the images on top and then adding black diamond stickles for a bit of glitz.

One of the reasons I have not updated the blog so regularly of late is that I was completing a design project for Scrapbook Sisters as one of their Design Team. This has now been handed over and loaded to their blog. So I will share my Spooky Book with you tomorrow.

Time And Tide........

Really do wait for no man!!

Again another two days have passed without being able to concentrate on crafting for my blog! But here is my Twinchie on the theme of time, for Small World of Inchies. I created it by using a 2" square of stampbord, covering it in varying shades of blue chalk eye, and then stamping on top with an image of the moon and pocket watches. I then scratched out highlights and added the time saying in pen on top. I hope you like it.

Tiny Dancers....

The theme was dance this week for Make A Moo, and I decided to hand draw mine for this one. I chose to do two tiny ballerina's drawn in pen and coloured with watercolour pencils. I added detail with stickles on the tutu's and hand wrote the titles. The edges were finished with chalk eyes.

Zetti....

?????????????????

It took a bit of interntet searching to figure out what Zetti was. Well, what I have found out is that it is based around the work of Teesha Moore. She makes quite quirky, but strangely attractive and interesting work, which is basically about a bit of collage, doodling, adding strange figures and shapes, pointed hats, and basically anything that comes into your head.

SPA set this as their challenge this week and the results of my labours are below:

I had fun creating these, I found it quite hard to start, but once there were some marks on the paper it was easier to make the rest follow.

Old Father Time....

...has, I'm sure, been speeding up the clocks of late. Time seems to be moving very fast over these last couple of weeks. I am looking forward to a bit of a lull, when it arrives! Anyway, clocks was the the theme for Make A Moo this week and this is how I interpreted it.

I coloured the background with weathered wood and walnut distress inks, then stamped the clocks on top in timber brown stazon. The stamps are from Cherry Pie Arts. I then added subtle colour with watercolour pencils and added glossy accents to the glass faces.

I love the theme of time and anything to do with it, there are so many directions you can go with it, and so many techniques you could use.

Red, White and Blue

Love the colours of my national flag and they have so much scope for use. This Thurs set the challenge of Wave the Flag, and this is my outcome. I used the Union Jack as the background, and stamped my new favourite stamp on to a separate piece of card and coloured it up with watercolour pencils. I then cut to size, doodled and added with foam pads so it is raised. I then wrote the wording separately, cut and doodled and added down the side.

Again time has got away from me, this is slightly after the 5pm deadline, really need to remember that one!! But wanted to share anyway. Hope you enjoy it.

ATC House

Created by Hand set the challenge to produce an ATC in the shape of a house, this is my interpretation.

I cut the shape first, added distress inks over the background and then stamped a crackle stamp over the top. I selected the red coloured beads to work as the roof tiles and attached with glossy accents. I then drew on final details in pen.

I hope you like the end result. It reminds me of a Japanese Pagoda or temple.

Nature's Finest

New week, New start......

So much for catching up with everything I had to do, I still feel that I am chasing my tail!!! Evidence being that I have not been able to craft and upload new work to my blog. So.....time to try and keep up with it all this week, and break even at least.

TMTA this week set the challenge for Mother Nature, and this is my interpretation. I coloured and ATC with two different coloured chalks and stamped on top with a Crafty Individuals stamp. I then coloured up a square of Stampbord in three differnt shades, let it dry and then stamped a flower image, also from Crafty Individuals and scratched out highlights and detail, then applied this to the top of the ATC and added a hand written title. I hope you like the end result.

Elements of Fall

Autumn is a popular theme at this time of year, with yet more challenges being set around it. For SPA this week I have taken the colours of Autumn and elements of Halloween to create my postcard. I used a range of different stamps, three stamped onto the background and the tree stamped separately and added with foam pads to raise it off the surface. I added glossy accents to parts of the stamped images for detail.

I also used halloween based images for Small World of Inchies, however this is slightly late for their challenge, as this week has been a bit crazy and the end has been a long way from sight!!! Still two days to now try and catch up with everything else! I used the same ranges of stamps and colours for these inchies and again added glossy accents as detail.

I Wish I Had Wings

I could do with a pair of wings this week to try and keep up with all the things I have to do, or fly away somewhere peaceful and hot! Wings was the theme for Make A Moo this week, and these are the end result - they are made using a range of differnt stamps from Crafty Arts & Cherry Pie Arts. The large butterfly has been stamped twice more and cut out and layered to creae a 3D effect, and the dragonfly was glittered on the background, then stamped on acetate, cut out, glittered and applied on top. I hope you like the mix of images and layering.
