To create this I collaged a tissue paper background and printed a photograph of myself on A4, tore around the edge and adhered to the background. I put a slight acrylic wash over the top, to even out the finish and a blue background. I then drew the wings on greaseproof paper with a black in pen, and added water to make it bleed, providing the tones. I stamped the flowers from Tim Holtz new Flower Garden collection - once onto the background and again onto greaseproof paper. I coloured with watercolours, cut the greaseproof ones out and crumpled. Gluing onto the background ones to give depth and texture. I finished by stamping the quote and adding to the whole image. Hope you like it.

Wings
Week 22 at Journal 52. Loved this prompt, but didn't want to go for the obvious of a page full of butterflies, so instead opted to give myself wings! I had a quote in mind, and illustrated it: Your wings already exist. All you have to do is FLY.
